We have extensive experience in farm drainage and can ensure your drains are in perfect working order to handle any weather conditions.

In general, on flat grades, we use a laser to calculate the grade to suit the particular site. After it is calculated, we design the grade. Using a grade master with the laser we then set it up to cut the drain to the designed grade.
Perforated Pipe
We install plastic pipes – smooth bore for flatter grades to increase flow efficiency and corrugated bore for steeper grades. Clients often use barley straw over the pipes to improve the pipes ability to draw and act as a filter.

We can also install a light covering of around 50mm to 100mm of filter gravel over the pipe, which vastly improves its drawing ability and life. We can come to your farm and assist with ideas on how to achieve the best possible result.
Stock underpasses
We have specialised in stock underpasses since the late 90s and have installed at least 30 to date.

Designing and installing an underpass varies in terms of size, herd size, and width of the lanes. The design takes into account the position of the unit in relation to road design, and ground water. In the past, we have used low-profile units and even raised the road over the top to keep away from ground water.

Earthworks
We can design and quantify specific earthworks projects and submit unit rates or hourly rates for the following:

  • Construction of water containment or treatment ponds
  •  Gas vented subsoil drained HDPE Lined or GCL Lined containment ponds
  • Road formation and Watertable work
  • General earthworks using lasers

Here at AG Hoffman’s Civil, we have an experienced team and a large range of equipment enabling us to complete jobs from farm drainage to pipe installation to the design and installation of stock underpasses and effluent disposal systems.

We specialise in civil drainage, industrial projects, subdivisions, rural development and farm drainage.

The company, which was established in 1952, is owned and managed by Grant Hoffman, Dale Hoffman and Chris Parkes.
